Veteran’s Day at Chili’s for Lunch

Another Veteran’s Day meal for lunch this time at Chili’s in Moore, Oklahoma. Thought I would wait until after 1 pm to avoid the crowd but Chili’s was still crowed. But only took about a 10 minute wait. I had their Old Timer Hamburger with Cheese from their Veteran’s Day menu. The food was great as was the service. I ordered ice tea to go with the meal and gave a good tip. The service was great. Thank-you Chili’s for your support of Veterans.

New Comforter Deal at JC Penney

Last Sunday I think we got a pretty good deal at JC Penney. We first saw a comforter, Home Expressions™ Castlebury 7-pc. Comforter Set, at the JC Penney store in Moore, Oklahoma on sale and the both of us have been thinking about a new comforter set. But they didn’t have any in stock for the King Size. So the saleslady checked the Norman store inventory and it said they had three in stock. She then called the Norman store to reserve one for us but they said they didn’t have any in stock. So she started to order one for us but it was coming up higher than the sale price plus and extra charge for oversize shipping. So we said no and I thought that if the inventory said the Norman store had three in stock then just maybe we could find at least one in the store. So we drove to JC Penny store in Norman and right off the bat we found three sets of king size. So we purchase the set. The sale price first came up higher than the sale price shown on the sales tag so they discounted the price and then we had a 20% discount coupon. So the original price was $240. Online it shows sale price of $119.99 which we got discounted to the sale price shown on the tag to $99.99 and then the 20% discount to $79.99 . So I think we got a good deal. How do you like it?

Interstellar the Movie

Last Saturday my Wife and myself went to see Interstellar, the Movie, at Warren’s IMAX. We got there early at the Warren Theater and the line was from one end of The Warren to the other end. I cheated and took the elevator up to the top and got our seats early. My wife waited in line and took the stairs and was exhausted when she reached the top. The movie was very good but it was a long movie, 3 hours long. Many people clapped at the end so you know it was a good movie. I would highly recommend it.

iPhone 6 Plus

It has been over a month now since I got my iPhone 6 Plus. Yes, it is large but I love it. I will have to say it is the best smart phone that I have ever owned. The large size makes it much easier for me to read. I am still waiting to try Apple Pay with my debit card but my bank doesn’t support it yet and I don’t own any credit cards. The camera is great as is all of the other features of the iPhone 6.

My iPhone 3G Battery

I still have an old iPhone 3G that I use with my iHome iA91 App-enhanced Home System alarm clock. Last Saturday when I went to change the time due to daylight savings time was ending, I found out that my battery had exploded. See the pictures below:

My iPhone 3G Back View

Notice on the front view that the screen has separated from the case and the screen lighting is showing through. It may be a bit hard to notice but on the back view the case is cracked in several spots and is bulging out. Guess that I shouldn’t be too surprised as it is over 6 years old.

I still need this phone for my iHome iA91 alarm clock so I ordered a replacement battery on eBay for less than $6 including free shipping. I will edit this post later to let you know how the repair turns out.

11/13/2014 Well, I got in my new battery for my iPhone 3G yesterday and after viewing a couple of videos last night on how to replace the battery, I did just that. And it actually still works. My first iPhone repair!

The Judge, The Movie

Last Friday night, Halloween night, we went to the Warren Theater and saw the move “The Judge” starring Robert Downey Jr., Robert Duvall, and Vera Farmiga. The move did have a few f*** words in it but beside that, it was a very good movie. Just don’t take your kids to see it.
